Below you'll find all of the answers to our most frequently asked questions.

  • Can we choose the set list?
    Unfortunately not. Having said that, Over the Threshold will perform three requests from a vast list of songs that'll be shared with you 5 weeks before the wedding or event. We will perform your chosen requests subject to 30 days notice.
  • What if our venue has a sound limiter?
    Noise limiters are far from ideal but we will always try to adhere to the venue's sound regulations. Unfortunately, if the venue’s noise limiter is set to 97db or below, Over the Threshold will be unable to perform.
  • Do you offer any other musical services?
    Yes we do. Along with your evening set, the band also offers an afternoon acoustic performance (daytime), the ability to add a female singer to your booking and the option to extend the live section of the evening to 2.5 hours. Please see our Weddings page for further information.
  • How long does it take you to set up?
    It takes us around 1 hour to get set up and ready to go providing there is easy access to the venue. We will also need around 45 minutes at the end to pack up.
  • What are your power requirements?
    We would need at least two 13 Amp plug sockets (UK Standard) and we'd use around 4 kW of power.
  • How much space do you need?
    Typically we require a performance area of about 4m x 5m (13ft x 16ft). That said, we can squeeze into a smaller space if necessary.
  • How far will the band travel?
    Over the Threshold are available across Cornwall, Devon, Somerset, Dorset and Hampshire. Our travel costs are calculated from a central postcode in the South West.
  • Is there anything else we need to provide?
    We would appreciate food and soft drinks during the course of the evening, although this is not contractual. We require 3 car parking spaces as close to the venue as possible.
  • How much do you charge?
    Our prices vary depending on a number of factors i.e. day of the week, location, time of year. Please use the form on the 'Contact' tab and we will send a quote over to you in no time. Our pricing starts from £799.
  • Are you self-contained?
    We are completely self-contained and bring with us a professional PA and Lighting system so you do not have to worry about anything on the day. For bigger corporate events at larger venues (500+) we will provide a complete technical specification of equipment needed.
  • Is the lineup always the same?
    We do have a busy diary, so we use a pool of 6 musicians in the unlikely event of any illness or unforeseen circumstances. Having said that, the musicians we use are of similar standard and are used to playing with one another.
  • Do you provide a contract?
    Yes we do, we will send you a contract confirming your requirements for the day and the document will also include our Terms & Conditions. The contract serves as a legally binding agreement between both parties.
