Mark and Mary’s Wedding Party

Updated: Feb 15, 2023

June beginning means summer is just around the corner - but it felt like it was already here this Saturday when we performed at Mark and Mary’s wedding party at the beautiful St Petroc’s Barn in Wadebridge, Cornwall.

The sun had his hat on and the weather was in the early 20s as we set up on the patio outside for an evening acoustic set, overlooking the guests and performing a range of chilled tunes as they mingled and enjoyed a tipple or two.

It really was the perfect weather for a wedding, and the seafood paella made us feel as though we were in the Mediterranean, not Cornwall!!

The venue itself is actually owned by the new Mr and Mrs Harper, and they run a lovely B&B on site. It was the perfect location for a relaxed, intimate wedding party, following their nuptials back in March.

Following our acoustic set, we set up indoors for our full band performance, kicking off shortly after the first dance with Sex on Fire - groom’s orders! The first hour flew by, with people dancing and singing along from the first song.

After a short break, we resumed at 9.30pm and had guests flocking to the dance floor tune after tune. A highlight was definitely the Abba classic Mamma Mia, while our range of 70s and 80s classics seemed to do the trick all evening. We pride ourselves on having an eclectic range of tunes in our set, and do our best to tailor this to the crowd we’re performing to - and that seemed to work!

The whole evening came to a close at 11pm with Mark coming over and personally thanking us for our performances on such a wonderful day. He was honest with us, and told us that he was “apprehensive” about booking a band online without seeing them live, but was extremely happy about the decision he made!

If you’re worried about booking your entertainment through the big bad internet, we’ve created a special blog detailing all you need to know about booking a wedding band.
