Wedding at Upton Barn and Walled Garden

For our last post of 2019, we couldn’t have asked for a better wedding to write about! Packed dancefloors, incredible hospitality and hit songs have been the theme of the year, so how better to end our blog for the year than by having them all combine for a wonderful wedding!

We’ve played at Upton Barn a few times now, including at the opening of their new Stable Barn back in February 2018, and every time we perform there we love it. The staff are incredibly friendly and welcoming, and always treat us brilliantly, while the venue itself is stunning. Found on the outskirts of Cullompton in Mid Devon, the award-winning venue is set in the heart of the Devon countryside, and the Walled Garden itself really mirrors its gorgeous surroundings.

For Mr and Mrs Withecombe’s first dance, they chose to have Feels Like This by Maisie Peters played over the PA. This made a change to us performing it - something which we offer free, as part of our package - and we loved watching them as if we were guests ourselves! We then kicked off our set with the first of three 40-minute sets - something which is becoming more and more popular, it seems. We’re more than happy to split our set in any way you’d like; whether that’s two hours or three sets, we’ll tailor our performance to your desires!

One of the perks of being in a wedding band is that you get fed by the wedding party (99% of the time, anyway!). We’ve had some delicious food this year, from fish and chips to pick ‘n’ mix, but during one of the breaks at this particular party we were greeted with some rather unusual cuisine - Mrs Withecombe described it as KFC Rabbit Leg. That’s definitely a first for us!

It was then back to it, and our second and third sets couldn’t have gone better. We’re not understating it when we say that EVERY song was a hit with the wedding party who danced and sung the night through. What a wonderful way to wrap up our blog for 2019!

That’s not us done, though - we’ve plenty more gigs booked in for the rest of the year, and we can’t wait to perform for any of you who have booked us! To those of you who we had the pleasure of performing for this year; thank you. We’ve met some amazing people, received some incredible reviews and truly had a fantastic year - so much so, we’re delighted to announce that we’ve made it through to the Wedding Industry Awards regional finals!

Thank you to everyone who has supported us. We’ll see you soon.
